Das Volleyballteam Kiel verliert nach schwacher Leistung das
2. Auswärtsspiel in Folge mit 0:3 (17:25;17:25;17:25) beim Rumelner TV. Aufgrund der langen Anreise und des frühen Spielbeginns um
16h machten sich die Kieler bereits um 8h morgens auf den Weg in den Westen der
Republik. Dabei musste das VTK auf ihre beiden Stützen Florian Huth und Daniel
Krug aus jeweils persönlichen Gründen verzichten. 
Nichtsdestotrotz ging man mit der Zielsetzung ins Spiel an die guten Leistungen gegen Lindow, Lüneburg und Wuppertal anzuknüpfen und den 2. Saisonsieg einzufahren. Das diese Zielsetzung nur schwierig umzusetzen war zeigte sich gleich zu Beginn des Spiels gegen nahezu fehlerfrei spielende Gastgeber. Aus einer guten Annahme heraus konnte Zuspieler Torbin Tidick die Bälle variabel verteilen und vor allem Nils Lieber über die Diagonale bekamen die Kieler nicht in den Griff. Die Kieler hingegen agierten in nahezu allen Spielelementen zu ängstlich und setzten die Rumelner damit nur zu selten unter Druck. Lediglich Diagonalangreifer Florian Lüdike im Hinterfeldangriff konnte gut punkten, aber auch das reichte nicht um die starken Gastgeber zumindest in einem Satz gefährden zu können.

Beim Aufsteiger Rumelner TV unterlag das Team von Coach Thomas Kröger sang- und klanglos mit 0:3 (17:25, 17:25, 17:25), rehabilitierte sich allerdings gestern mit dem Regionalpokalsieg in eigener Halle. Rumelner TV – VT Kiel 3:0 Duisburg war für die Kieler „Adler“ keine Reise wert. Aufsteiger Rumeln mit dem Erstliga-erfahrenen Zuspieler Torben Tidick leistete sich wenig Fehler und setzte den Gast besonders mit starken Float-Aufschlägen unter Druck. Erneut zeigte sich die VT-Annahme nicht von ihrer besten Seite. Für Libero Kristian Ewald, der in Abwesenheit von Florian Huth (privat verhindert) mit Bennet Poniewaz und Nils Rohde den Riegel bildete, Anlass zur Selbstkritik: „Ich bin überhaupt nicht zufrieden mit meiner Leistung.“ Thomas Kröger, der zuletzt harte Kritik an seiner Mannschaft geübt hatte, attestierte Diagonalangreifer Florian Lüdike eine „gute Leistung“, wollte ansonsten in puncto Einzelkritik nicht ins Detail gehen und sagte stattdessen: „Positiv war, dass alle Spieler bis zum letzten Punkt gekämpft haben. Ich nehme die Verantwortung auf mich, denn ich habe bisher nicht geschafft, den Jungs das nötige Selbstvertrauen zu geben.“ VT Kiel: Bargmann, Blumtritt,Ewald, Klee, Krieblin, Lüdike, B. Poniewaz, D. Kampflos erreichte VT nach der Absage des SV Warnemünde das Regionalpokal-Finale. Im zweiten Halbfinale besiegte Regionalligist 1. VC Norderstedt Ligakonkurrent VT Kiel II klar mit 3:0 (26:24, 25:18, 25:19). Ohne Florian Huth und Florian Lüdike angetreten, gab Thomas Kröger Spielern aus der zweiten Reihe Einsatzzeiten. Doch auch gegen den Außenseiter aus der Dritten Liga regierte bei VTK beim 3:1 (27:25, 25:21, 22:25, 25:16) gegen Norderstedt über weite Strecken Verunsicherung. „Es ist wichtig, dass wir gewonnen haben“, sagte Kröger, der wenig Licht und viel Schatten auf dem Feld zu sehen bekam. Michel Bargmann agierte unglücklich, dennoch zögerte Kröger bis zum zweiten Satz, ehe er ihn in Annahme und Außenangriff durch Nils Rohde ersetzte und VT ein 11:16 in einen 25:21-Satzgewinn drehte. Auffällige Aktionen hatte David Poniewaz im Diagonalangriff, auch Kapitän Björn Blumtritt spielte variabel und verwandelte schließlich selbst den Matchball zum 3:1-Erfolg. Am 30. Oktober empfängt VT nun den Regionalpokalsieger Nordost (TSGL Schöneiche) zur Qualifikation zum DVV Pokal-Achtelfinale. Das können die Frauen des Kieler TV nicht mehr erreichen, die im Regionalpokal-Finale in Neustadt-Glewe mit 0:3 (23:25, 19:25, 20:25) gegen den Zweitligisten VT Aurubis Hamburg II den Kürzeren zogen.
